Thanks to Eric for coming up with the idea and Kiran for upgrading the grid. It is extremely helpful in my studies.

Really great work thanks.

thanks, these error logs are great. how do you suggest i go about entering the data? should i spend 2 minutes on each question and only enter my answer and time, and move onto the next question, then when reviewing the answers i should make the notes such as Feeling and type of error?

or should i spend 2 minutes on the question, then immediately enter all data for all columns? and do this after each problem so that i have it fresh in my mind on how i was feeling?

thanks!

Hi Eric,

I'm new to the boards (not to the GMAT Smile ) and have two questions:

1. Would you still recommend the grid despite Kaplan and GmatPrep Software which tracks they question type and level of difficulty for you?
2. Would u recommend the grid to some1 with only 1 month available to study?

Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the Beat The GMAT community, Jpink2345!

To answer your questions:

1. Yes, I would still recommend the grid. You can find the latest version here: http://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/gmat-error-log
2. The grid is even more important for folks who have limited time of prep. This grid will provide a fast reference on areas where you need to improve. You need to identify weaknesses quickly and solve them in order to get sufficiently prepped on one month.

Good luck!

Oh goodness thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your answer was so helpful! I tried to study for the gmat before (before discovering beatthegmat.com Mad ) and got overwhelmed too quickly! Glad to know that you recommend this spreadsheet to ensure sufficient preparation. Thanks again!

E.T.A. You will probably find that my post was overly-excited, lol. That's partially b/c I always wonder whether a new method is appropriate for the amount of time I have allotted. Basically your post helped me to realize that this whole GMAT thing is do-able.

Happy to help you, Jpink2345! You've come to the right place too. If you have questions during your prep, don't hesitate to ask questions in our forums. We have many awesome members and experts here who would love to help you!

Since you mentioned that you have only one month of study time, you may want to read this article: http://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/2009/12/24/a-one-month-gmat-study-plan

Good luck!

Hello,

why can't we add rows or coloumns in the sheet? Is this file protected? In addition the notes section is too narrow. I would like to widen it.

Thanks

I agree with the last comment, can you un-protect the sheet and share please? I am looking to extend the formulas in the sheet so that it's just one file with all the track record for the 60 day guide.

Thanks !

If you're referring to the Improvement Chart for Official Guide, 13th Edition, you can easily unprotect the sheet.
Just open the Excel file, and select "unprotect" in the Tools menu.

Cheers,
Brent
