Profile Review request

Here are the facts:
GMAT: 760 (Q50V42, Percentile: Q94V95T99)
TOEFL: planned on Oct. 25th
UG GPA: 7.9 / 10 (Indian Institure of Techonology, Delhi)
Education: Phd in mathematics, Germany
Occupation: Research scientist (computational biology), USA

Questions:
1) Which round is better: round1 or round2 ?
2) I have a very strange profile compared to most MBA aspirants, in that I already have a Phd degree and applying for a Masters degree. Is it OK to aim for colleges ranked in top 10/20? or is it too high to aim for?
3) Is part time MBA worth the time/effort/money?

Dear shrayg11,

There is no disadvantage to round 2 versus round 1, but you don't want to wait until round 3. With the increase in applications expected this year, I suggest you submit your application as soon as possible without compromising quality.

While candidates with PhD's are not common in the MBA applicant pool, they are not rare either. It will be important for you to clearly convey why you want a MBA and how it makes sense for your career goals. In terms of schools, I encourage you to visit the sticky on school selection in the Stacy Blackman Consulting section of this forum.

A part-time MBA program is worth the time, effort and money if it makes the most sense for you and your desired career path. Part-time programs generally attract folks with a little more work experience (avg. 6-7 years) than a full time program. Part-time programs are designed for folks wanting to stay on their current career path and/or in their current industry or company. It is not the best option for those wanting to make a significant career change.
