Here is the actual question:
List K consists of 12 consecutive integers. If -4 is the least integer in list K, what is the range of the POSITIVE integers in list K?
For any set of consecutive integers:
Number of integers = biggest - smallest + 1.
Since there are 12 integers, and the smallest = -4, we get:
12 = biggest - (-4) + 1
Biggest = 7.
Thus, the positive integers in List K are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
Range = biggest - smallest = 7-1 = 6.
