Hi Sud21!
You can use properties of consecutive sets for a bit of a shortcut. Because Mary is reading a number of pages that increases each day by 12 books, the average of the total read will be the number of pages she read on the middle day (Wednesday). This means she read 392/7 = 56 pages on Wednesday. Count back 3 days at 12 books each (36 books), she read
56-36 = 20
books on Sunday.
