2^5 + 2^5 + 3^5 + 3^5 + 3^5

a. 5^6
b. 13^5
c. 2^7 + 3^8
d. 4^5 + 9^5
e. 2^6 + 3^6

I know this question has to be solved by factoring, but not sure how to approach.

OA after a few explanations.

This is of the form a+a + b+b+b = 2a + 3b

So now you have 2.2^5 + 3.3^5

But you know that 2.2 = 2^2 and 2.2^2 =2^3 i.e. a^m x a^n = a^(m+n)

So you get 2^6 + 3^6

Answer is E.

2^5 + 2^5 + 3^5 + 3^5 + 3^5
= (2^5 + 2^5) + (3^5 + 3^5 + 3^5)
= 2^5(1 + 1) + 3^5(1 + 1 + 1)

= 2^5(2) + 3^5(3)
=2^6 + 3^6
