IMO E. Only in E "as likely as" is correctly comparing the chances of "a Spree ballet reunion" with "tank tops and short pants making a comeback."trust123 wrote:Following the split in 1980 , the chances of a spree ballet reunion, as per fans ,were more likely than tank tops and short pants making a comeback.

A changes the meaning of the sentence, because it says "more likely" rather than "as likely as".PAB2706 wrote:why not A
The best option is E as Karmayogi & S0laris mentioned.

I am not sure I understand why "were" is used in the above sentence. I thought 'reunion' is singlular & so it should be 'was', but didn't find it in any option. Can someone please explain?

Fans is a plural noun, and hence requires a plural verb were.
Subject is fans, subject verb need to agree. Was would be incorrect.

@mharv
"were" is used for "chances" and not "fans".
That should clear it.
Whts wrong with C, BTW. Can anyone explain.
