A. The management of a workforce distributed geographically carries with it challenges like morale, team cohesion and communication, and accountability between all team members
B. The management of a workforce distributed geographically carries with it challenges such as morale, team cohesion and communication, and also accountability among all team members
C. The management of a workforce distributed geographically carries with it challenges such as morale, team cohesion and communication, and accountability between all team members
D. The management of a workforce distributed geographically carries with it challenges like morale, team cohesion, and communication, and accountability between all team members
E. The management of a workforce distributed geographically carries with it challenges such as morale, team cohesion, and communication, and accountability between all team members
If you get this correct I am happy but give me an proper explanation. I have the OE and OA but still give it a try.
Split 1: Such as / Like : We need such as here because "morale, team cohesion and communication, and accountability" given as example here
Split 2 : Among vs Between : We need Between here because "morale, team cohesion and communication, and accountability" has to be between every two members of the team.
Split 3: "team cohesion and communication, and .." vs "team cohesion, and communication, and ....": We need "team cohesion and communication" as one phrase here to maintain the intended meaning of the sentence.
Let me know OA & OE. Also I agree some of the explanation look very off track at first glance but then we can always post those questions here to get multiple opinion, concept, approach and help from our Dear Instructors / mentors / members.

Cool thread... I am Glad "Erika came home" and gave us a lesson or two in SC!!
personally I would not have been in a position to choose any answer, the question would rather have timed out!!
and about the workforce...well.. C should be the answer!

Problem with Management workforce for me was usage of Among and Between.... Workforce comprises of more than 2 people so I went for Among and got it wrong.
I was not at all convinced with the usage of Between but its Logical...

Yeah.. Among would be better in case of " Team unity" in question instead of "team cohesion and communication".shovan85 wrote:Problem with Management workforce for me was usage of Among and Between.... Workforce comprises of more than 2 people so I went for Among and got it wrong.

unity must be among the team members, cohesion and communication must be in between team members.
Hope this helps.

Wow! Sorry you're angry about that one. The goal of the question is testing count nouns vs. non-count nouns, and some nouns can work either way. Stones and bricks are countable objects, but they are also a building material. You can say "the house is made of brick" or "the house is made of bricks" and either is correct.shovan85 wrote:I dont know how the hell TOO MUCH brick is correct, but Too many Brick is also wrong, as brick is used in singular form. Too many Bricks (Plural) is the correct usage.BastiG wrote:Why is much brick correct? Can somebody shed some light on this?
It's a very specific question meant to test that concept.

And on Among/Between -- it is because the accountability is between every two members. "Between" is used not only when there are only two things, but when there are multiple "pair" relationship; consider the phrase "sand between your toes", which does not assume you have only two toes.shovan85 wrote:Problem with Management workforce for me was usage of Among and Between.... Well... this question did shake up many of the foundation of our fundamentals. And especially about bricks!Jim@Grockit wrote:Wow! Sorry you're angry about that one. the one about the management and workforce is mean! The only diff b/w the c and e is the comma after cohesion in E.
I think the comma makes E wrong. "team cohesion and communication" ----> is one unit with 'team' getting distributed -- team cohesion and team communication... I think the answer should be C.
C. The management of a workforce distributed geographically carries with it challenges such as morale, team cohesion and communication, and accountability between all team members
E. The management of a workforce distributed geographically carries with it challenges such as morale, team cohesion, and communication, and accountability between all team members
