Two actions one previous then the other.. so clearly we have to use "had".. so u can strike out B and D.

Now the union acquiesced to something .. how?

a] By supporting x
c] in support of x
e] in its supporting of x

well best answer is A.. the union acquiesced to something by supporting x..

showing comparison between two times (before 1897 and after 1897)..... so cant use where ..where can be only used when a place is mentioned...so should be C..wazz the OA??

I have 1000 SC doc, and the same question with OA-A is given. However, while browsing, I came up with this question with the correct answer changed.
Here, Stuart says where is used to refer to place.

Agree with the above post.

'Where' should refer only to places.

Secondly, when we are using after/before we clearly indicate the time sequence, hence (D) would have been the choice had it not messed up with "English-speaking members’ prejudice". Hence (C) is the answer.
