Dear gmatinfo,

Please find the replies to your queries,

Can anyone tell is the percentage of 10th and 12th important for ISB applicationother that GMAT?
Ans: That depends from candidate to candidate. For an applicant with higher number of years of experience these things tend to matter less.

is the applications now open for entry in 2011 or for 2012?
Ans:Yes. The 1st deadline is on Aug 30.

And i know a guy from IIT madras with 2 yrs work ex. got into ISB .Is it only such high profile guys accepted there
kindly reply
Ans: No. ISB has always maintained a diverse candidate pool. I studied there with the ex-captain of the Indian hockey team, A Kargil war veteran, An encounter specialist and many more such interesting people.

Dear walk_in_the_park,

There are 4 broad parameters the adcom at ISB has to evaluate a candidate:
1. Acads and analytical skills (We call it Analytical Horsepower)
2. Work Experience
3. Leadership
4. Diversity.

For a candidate like you 1 will be very important as your 2 is on the lower side. Now in 2 you need to show that you have achieved significantly more compared to your peers and assumed newer responsibilities very quickly with time. That will set you apart and signal to the adcom that you are management material. Your goals should also be very clear (You have to mention in the essay anyway).

For 3, you need to sift out events from various phases in life where you have shown leadership. This needs introspection.

4 will draw a complete picture of you. Your extra curricular activities, your involvements and achievements will be looked into.

Now try to evaluate yourself from these angles.

Hope this helps.

Hi Guys,

I am done with my GMAT as well and will be looking forward to apply to ISB.

MY score was 740 ( q50, v40 ) .

One question I have regarding B-Schools in general is , the recommended 2 years of work ex is calculated till the time of application or till the date of joining ?

Like lot of other people , I also belong to the "people with less work ex" pool. Today, I have ~ 21 months of work ex only :(.
This is something that is worrying me.

PS: walk_in_the_park : What a amazing score ! 790 ! How the hell did you manage that :D :P
