Discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the opinion stated above. Support your views with reasons and/or examples from your own experiences, observations, or reading.
The success of a company can depend on many things, such as competition environment, government regulations, and product research and development. However, I believe that one of the most important factors that correlates directly with the success of a compnay is the average job satisfaction of its employees. Satisfied employees means the workers can work more productive and loyal, contribute more to the company, and are better at satisfying customers.

Job satisfaction can mean many things to many people, such as monetary compensation, job security, and work fulfillment. When a compnay can meet these dimentions of job satisfaction, the employee can feel empowered, valued, and satisfied. When an employee is satisfied, he can bring out his full potential.

Satisfied employees who bring their full potential to the company are more productive and loyal, contribute more, and are friendlier to customers. This ultimately will mean higher return on investments and lower costs for the compnay. Let us take WestJet for example. This compnay tries to maintain a very high job satisfaction for its employees. The company has a very good compensation program where employees are part of the shareholders of the company and can receive bonuses based on the company performance. The company also provides very good healthcare benefits and job security clauses in its contract with the unions. Furthermore, the company offers continuous training classes where employees can further their skill sets and stay relevant in the work environment.

All of these above programs add to the employee satisfaction. As a result, they work more productive and are more committed to the company. In times of economic hardship where airlines face tough pricing competition and low demand, WestJet stayed at the forefront of its competitors and gained market share. Because the employees were part of the owners, they took WestJet as their own company. The agreed to take pay cuts so the company could stay competitive. They were more productive and thus made WestJet more cost efficient compared to other airlines. Furthermore, because they were very satisfied with their jobs, the WestJet employees were more friendly and hospitable to customers compared to employees at other airlines. Thus, the satisfaction of WestJet employees undeniably contributed to the success of WestJet.

In conclusion, while many factors contribute to the success of a company, the job satisfaction of a compnay's employees is one the most important factor. Satisfied employees means more productive and cost effective work force. Satisfied employees can also mean satisfied customers. Satisfied employees ultimately leads to a successful company.
