To main parallelism, we require
combined gravitational pull of the Sun and of .....

Hence C,D and E ar out.

Out of A and B, both are correct.
In B - each of them - them points to planets of the previous clause.

In A - each is directly modifying planets in previous clause .. and hence is concise.

I don't think A is correct. From where did you get the question and the answer? I highly doubt it.

Its a 3:2 split between "of all the other planets" and "all the other planets"

We already have "of the sun" and that is not required to be repeated again.. so I would eliminate A and B straight away.
One more reason for eliminating A and B is because of the use of each (singular) and them, their (plural).. so A and B are clearly out..

E is also out based upon similar reasoning.. each and their..

Between C and D.. D is most concise..

Hence I would go for D.

i dont understand this one.
far as i know,
sun & all planets --> plural
plural + each should be followed by a plural verb. why do we have "it" instead of "their" ???

The brutal SC doc. has the answer as A but you guys are saying its D.please explan!!

IMO D.

all the other planets, each contributing according to their mass and distance from the others.

The underlined section is a modifier that modifies all the other plants.

In this phrase, each planet is the subject of the phrase. I think when we have Each as subject of phrase/sentence then we need to have singular pronoun. Hence D is correct.

Correct me, if I am wrong.
Experts help would help us on this.

the answer should be D instead of A
"their" in A is not good with " each" and we dont need more of
the answer is wrong 100%
