All -
here is my debrief of the Darden interview. When I arrived to the admissions office, I saw about 30 people who were interviewing that day, and everyone was very friendly, willing to share their experience and the overall atmosphere was very welcoming. I would love to be a part of the class with all of the students who were interviewing that day.

I was interviewed by an admissions committee member, and she couldn't have been more pleasant. The interview is blind, and that means that she has not read any part of my application prior to the interview, and this was a chance for her to remain open minded in an effort to get to know me better and see if my personality fits Darden.
She has asked me to tell "my story" but remain time conscious - I had about 45 minutes, but it wasn't a hard stop. As I told her about my life, she asked questions to clarify some details. Overall, she couldn't have been more polite and encouraging.

After the interview, you will have a chance to attend a short session with the career services, and fin aid office. At 1:15 you can sign up for lunch with adcom and faculty members - courtesy of Darden. This activity is optional, but most people do sign up for it, and it's a very laid back conversational lunch.

Later in the day - around 2:30 pm you can sign up for the tour of the Grounds led by Second Year students. I had previously visited the school, and toured the Grounds, so I skipped this activity this time around.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask in a thread, and I'll be happy to answer them to the best of my knowledge.

Good luck All!

Thanks for the debrief, djvakin! I am visiting Darden on March 22nd and am really excited to see the school. Anything you recommend checking out while I am on campus?

I would walk around UVA Grounds, check out downtown, and definitely visit Monticello. There are also a few breweries and wineries around Charlottesville, so I would check them out as well. ( I gave up alcohol for lent, so I didn't tour these places yet). I get the feeling that life in Charlottesville, especially for a Darden student, is definitely not boring :)

I think they call ALMOST all admitted students. Some do get admitted, but don't get a call. For R1 everyone saw their status online at 12:01 AM on the decision date. So I assume at 12:01 AM on Friday, the 26th is when you can log in and find out.

I think they try to call all of the admits on the day before the decision deadline. I was admitted in Round 1, and Joanne left me a message to call her back, which I did after the office was closed. I was surprised later that night when she called me from her cell phone at 8pm Eastern just to make sure that I got the news before midnight came and the online status changed. What service!

I know! The admissions office is the best in class. Although there were a few ppl from R1 on businessweek forum who got admitted, but didn't get the call.

I will be attending Darden. It's the only school I applied to.
