Hey friends...
cudn't acheive the target score of 700+....Got 660..
Everything was going fine till the last 10-15 min of the exam....nicely attended the essays and the maths section...verbal was ok...tough CRs though...but the biggest turn around when i saw 4th RC in the last 10 min...i think I lost it there...cudn't fight the mental tenacity...n there i went wrong...
Well I have accepted it...nothing to blame...i gave my best shot...
Would like to share my preparation
Though I was preparing for GMAT from last 4 months giving about 3-4 hrs per day (as i am a working female)...but the rigourous preparation started only 1 and a half month...In last 1 month, i gave about 7-8 hrs per day...
Course material referred - All the course material i did 2-3 times....
CR - Powerscore Critical reasoning bible - Best CR Book in my opinion...but need to do a lot of practise after finishing the bible....i wud suggest that we may also refer to some LSAT questions also...Here for practice, I did kaplan 800, OG-12, OG Verbal, 1000 CR Questions (but try to refer to the question bank with explanations)
SC - Manhattan SC Guide - Read it carefully...make flash cards...most important - while attempting the questions, note down the reason for selecting the answer choice and match it with the explanation...this will teach us more about points we may miss....I did kaplan 800, OG-12, OG Verbal, 1000 SC Questions (but try to refer to the question bank with explanations)
RC - Did 1000 RC questions...CR Bible brushes the approach to abstract questions....I did kaplan 800, OG-12, OG Verbal
Quant - Went through the basics....tried to solve all the questions based on understanding...Practised kaplan 800, OG-12
Tests
GMAT Prep - 2 - 2 weeks before the test - 660
Platinum GMAT - 2 weeks before the test - 660
Veritas Prep - 1.5 week before the test (Full length test) - 670 but here break up was Q45 V 41 - I am skeptical about the scoring algorithm
Manhattan CAT - 6 days before the test - 700 but here break up was Q44 V 41
GMAT Prep - 1 - 3 days before the test (Full length test) - 740 Q49 V42
I also wrote kaplan tests, which were all in the range of 580-610
A lot of learning was through this BTG forum, where i got some real insight on critical questions...thx friends and experts for all the support...
But i m not disheartened...this is the part and parcel of life...and now i m looking forward to apply in some good colleges in India and Asia....
I will be regular on this forum...if you need any help...you can always ping me or pm me...
Cudn't cruise to the target score...finally at 660 (Q48 V33)

Good debrief neha!
I see you scored 40+ on the practice tests in Verbal. But teh actual score came out quite diff. Did you find Verbal on teh actual test relatively harder comapared to the practice tests? I have heard MGMAT verbal is easier than GMAT Prep, since I am using MGMAT tests for my prep (all 6), it would be nice to know how that compares to the actual test.

keep up the enthusiasm...
as for the takeaway for the rest of us...yet to give the GMAT...we need to develop some "quick kill" strategies of RCs....
