In assumption questions, is 'filling in the logical gaps' method preferred to 'feasibility of the premises' method?
Sometimes, explanation to the answer provides that certain information is already given in the passage or this is fairly consistent with what we already know. Hence, rejects an answer choice.
Sometimes, explanation provides that it is better to know whether the subject is capable to doing what is stated in the passage.

I would say that on the official GMAT - they would rarely reject an assumption by saying that "it is explicitly stated and so is not an assumption."
You are much more likely to see that the incorrect answer is NOT SOMETHING THAT THE ARGUMENT REQUIRES. That is what an assumption is all about. Is it something that is truly required by the argument?
