Economist: The marketing department for a certain brand of dish washing liquid claims that its product, a soap which removes dried-on grease 30 percent more effectively, will quickly become the best-selling dish washing liquid in its class. However, as the failure of the pharmaceutical start-up that developed the unprecedentedly strong pain reliever HURT-AWAY demonstrated last year, customers often care more about the perceived trustworthiness of a brand as they do about the efficacy of a particular product.
Which of the following strategies is used in the economist's argument?
A
Suggesting that the motives of an opponent are dubious
B
Supporting another's position by means of a case study
C
Challenging an argument by means of an analogy
D
Demonstrating contradictions in the evidence supporting an opposing position
E
Pointing out how a plan is unsuitable given the cultural contexts of a market

A) Out of scope ... I dont see any opponent here..
B) Not bad
c) Not bad
D) Out of scope
E) Cultural context is out of scope, customer wants trustworthiness.
HI Aim GMAT,
How did you bring Force/volt analogy btw sentenses. You mean HURT-AWAY and dish wash will both fail because both will not win trust .
Here the catch is "people dont trust start up companies that quick but dish wash is a brand"
I think people will trust the branded dish wash and the sales for dishwash will be at a good postion than the newbie drug looser.
Please also look into B

I'm with B
in the argument we have two positions: one that said that the new liquid will be a huge success and the second that doubt about this success because of a precedent failure of a pain reliever product developped by the same start up that can alterate the custumer confidence. the second position was supported by a case study.

Hi HSPA
The argument simply says that a particular thing happened with X so the same thing will happen with Y . I dnt agree with B as there is no case study , the author has just mentioned two scenarios.
By the way pradeepkaushal9518 whts the OA and let us also know the official explanations .
