Modulas

Does A^2=AB ?

2) B= |A|

My question is why does this statement not prove the main equation.

Isn't X= |5| always equal to 5.
and |x|= 5 means x= +5 or -5.

Could someone clarify the modulas rule.

Thanks.

Does A^2=AB ?

2) B= |A|

Let The value of A be 5 then B = |A| = 5.
A^2 = 5^2 = 25
AB = 5*5 = 25
A^2 = AB

Let the value of A be -5, then B = |A| = |-5| = 5
A^2 = (-5)^2 = 25
AB = -5*5 = -25
A^2 != AB

I hope that the above answered your question.
