I don't think that you can use "from" to describe cause and effect. That might be the issue with D.

in [D] how can prices plunge from oversupply ? shouldn't it be prices plunged from some level etc ?

"Due to" should be used only when it can be replaced by "caused by" in the sentence. "due to" is not same as "because of".
By Replacing "due to" with "caused by" in the option D, the sentence doesn't make sense. Hence eliminate option D

In 'D' 'plunging' is modifying 'computer chip' instead of 'prices' .I think modifier (plunging) should touch the noun (prices)
