I am targeting one year MBA programs only. Don't want to stay out of work for long especially in these uncertain times. The US schools offer only 2 year regular MBA programs and it'll be a huge opportunity cost. Oh, I never knew that Kellogg's also had a one year MBA program. I was just aware of the One year MBA at Emory which I was considering. What I'm not very sure about is, however,how much worth does one year MBA has in the US ? Do the recruiters value the one year MBA programs as much as the two year ones. The average work experience at Kellogg's one year MBA and Emory One year MBA is around 5-6 years which almost happens to be the average work experience for candidates at the two year MBA programs? So why would the candidates themselves not go for 1 year MBA programs instead of going for 2 year MBA programs where the opportunity cost is huge. I'm looking for some insights.westsidah408 wrote:

Don't have a great deal of info about this program but I think that it's fairly good. The batch size is very small though.Only 30 candidates per intake which actually is a disadavantage I think because that too low a batch size is worrying.runthegmat wrote:@Paul

The upside to that is that since they take only a handful of people every year the quality of students must be good. Another downside to the school is that it isn't know much beyond France and Switzerland and it will be able to "ride" on the school's name if you intend to seek a job in London or anywhere else. That's my point of view though but I'm open to hear the views of others
I agree with Paul. St Gallen is a regional kind of school and not many people know about it so doesn't carry that kind of brand value. I'd prefer waiting for the top 10 european schools even if i have to wait for one more year
Make sure that you take into consideration the Euro zone crisis while selecting the schools. Jobs are a little difficult to get at the moment especially for the international candidates. And seems like it'll take a few years for the economies to be back in shape. So weigh your options judiciously.Empirestateofmind wrote:I agree with Paul.
