bombed the GMAT. Many unanswered questions

by xlater » Tue Aug 16, 2011 2:11 pm
Hello,

I just took the GMAT and received the unofficial score of 340, quantitative 19 and verbal 17. I think I did very well in the essay portion but I read there is no difference between the official and unofficial scores. Does this mean my score of 340 will stay as it is regardless of how well my essays were written?
I am flaming mad to say the least. I am mad because I misunderstood about the unanswered questions. I thought test takers will not be penalized for unanswered questions if time runs out. It looks like I was wrong, big time! I have left a total of 20-30 questions unanswered. I am flaming mad about this since it is too late to retake the GMAT in-time for the fall semester application. I'm just blowing steam! ARRRR!!

Essays scores are different! They have nothing to do with your verbal and quant scores.

If you are applying for Fall 2012, there is still time for applications. If you try to complete your test, you will do better. A better score surely will help you.

Take a few prac tests and try completing all questions. If you see improved scores, take it again.
Vineesh,
Just telling you what I know and think. I am not the expert. :)
