Tony: A short story is little more than a novelist's sketch pad. Only novels have narrative structures that allow writers to depict human lives accurately by portraying characters whose personalities gradually develop through life experience.
Raoul: Life consists not of a linear process of personality development, but rather of a series of completely disjointed vignettes, from many of which the discerning observer may catch glimpses of character. Thus, the short story depicts human lives more faithfully than does the novel.
The dialogue most supports the claim that Tony and Raoul disagree about whether
(A) human lives are best understood as series of completely disjointed vignettes
(B) novels and short stories employ the same strategies to depict human lives
(C) novels usually depict gradual changes in characters' personalities

IMO B

What the first guy has brought out clearly is difference between portrayal of human lives by Novels Vs short stories
The 2nd guy objects by saying 'Life consists not.... so short stories do that better!'

So basically they are discussing if novels and short stories use same strategy to depict human lives.

I never underestimate the GMAT questions. Many of them are professionally designed to trap us, unfortunalely. This question does not seem challanging; IMO B but on the other hand I afraid to regret skipping a detail for chosing B :)
The more you suffer before the test, the less you will do so in the test! :)

What do these two guys disagree about?

No buddy, read it clear. Tony say's it is enough. Tony prefers the novel and the other guy prefers the short story. And the conclusion by Raoul is short story wins!!(we don't know what happens later on,they might argue, but we don't care!)
Tony = Novel
Raoul= short story.(also, the concluder)
They disagree about D.
So, as per me the best choice is D.
