the probability of getting two "heads" on three tosses should be 3/8.

arrangements will be HHT,HTH,THH ..so each arrangement has probability of 1/8 and hecne total probabilty of 3/8.

was just trying to brush up my probability when I came across this thread .

Would like to continue from here .

The probability of 2 heads on 3 tosses is 3/8

HHT this is one probability but the heads could occur in the 2 and 3 throws as well so THH and HTH are also possible.

so total no. of ways heads can be arranged is 3!/2! using permutation formula .hence 3/8
