A) wrong: equal numbers of photographers, sculptors and painters
B) may not be true
C) no way to compare the quality of exhibited works
D) may not be true
E) correct: there types have the same number of participants, but some photographers submitted more works than those of other two types, which results in more exhibited photographs.

As stated by G that submitted work by photographers, sculptors, and painters was equal(lets assume 10 submission for each field).
However more photographs(lets say 9/10) were exhibited than either sculptures(2/10) or paintings(3/10).

so it means there will be some criteria/condition between the work submission and the exhibition.

That criteria is mentioned by H as All submitted works that met the traditional criteria-and only those works-were exhibited in the show.
This fact clarify that 9 of 10 photographs met the traditional criteria but only 2 & 3 out of 10 from sculptures and paintings respectively met the traditional criteria .

so it clearly means that "More works that met the traditional criteria for the Metropolitan Art Show were submitted by photographers than by sculptors or painter".

Although I could guess the answer as E, I want to know if the level of daily questions is representative of the real GMAT?

How can the answer be E? The argument clearly states the "Equal numbers of photographers, sculptors, and painters submitted works that met the traditional criteria for the show". So it means there were equal number of all three who were meeting the criteria. Option E clearly refutes this statement.
IMO A should be the right answer, because even if all three met the criteria but more photodraphers wanted to their work to be considered for exhibition. Works of all three can meet the criteria but since more photographers wanted their work to be displayed, there were more number of photographs. This is in sync with both G and H's arguments. Anyone here can who does not agree with this explanation and why?
