Hey Prachi,

Sorry but this year we don't have any admissions consulting prizes! But good luck with it all!

Hey DanaJ

Just wanted to know the criteria of this scholarship..also if you can throw some light on selection parameters or who will review the selection(like in 2006 it was a poll system.Could not find anything for 2007-2010),it would be great.

Hi Bal,

We review candidates based on their essays. The main idea is to give the scholarships to those who demonstrate that they truly want to go to business school. We want to help those people! In fact, the process itself is somewhat similar to the admissions to an MBA. We want to hear a compelling story why you need this prize.

The decisions will be made by a panel of judges from within Beat The GMAT (myself, beakim and Eric, our founder) with the help of previous scholarship winners. Ganesh and Katie have been helping us since last year's competition.

Hi Dana,

I just completed and submitted my application earlier today. I was wondering whether it was correctly submitted since I didn't receive any confirmation e-mail or message in my BTG Inbox. Does that mean I need to re-submit? I did receive a message thanking me for submitting the application when I clicked 'submit' but just wanted to be sure.

Thanks in advance!

Aashna

This is a really great initiative. I'm wondering, will the winners be used to advertise BTG or will they stay private and anonymous?

I have the same question about anonymity as the previous person.
also, I'd like to know at what stage you contact the references/recommenders? i need to inform my recommenders about what to expect.

Well, the names of the winners will be published on BTG.com in the article where we announce the winners. We also normally ask for a testimonial, similar to the ones you see on the official scholarship page: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/scholarship It's not something winners have to do to claim their prize, but so far past winners have all supplied testimonials. We don't use your name for any other purposes, but the article will remain published on our website.

Recommenders may or may not be contacted between June 1 and June 7, to verify some of the claims you make in your essays. There isn't a set rule here.

That's a fair request. However I don't want my name and picture to be forever on the BTG website so I'll eat the cost. Thanks for the contest however!

Hi Dana,

I have just submitted my application for BTG scholarship, but I haven't received any confirmation notice so far.

Would you mind checking my application status to see if I have to resubmit it again?

Many thanks.

Thuy
