Is there anybody from Bangalore who would be taking the test by July 2010 ?

It would be good to share ideas, materials, strategies among the regional groups. Please reply so that we can group together, gain momentum and beat the GMAT.

Hello All,

This is my first post in this forum....I am planning to take GMAT in Sep 2010....I am from Vijayanagar.....I see that a group has already been formed....Let me know if I can fit into any group to start the study.....My background and test history is given below.....

I got a score of 600 when I took the test in June '08. I could never cross 600 in all the practice test I took. So my final score was the best I got. I went to PR tutorials paying a huge amount. Didn't help me.

However I went ahead and applied to colleges in UK in after 1 yr in August '09 (was trying 1 yr programs). Currently I have admission from Lancaster University for Oct 2010 with a scholarship (3000 pounds)

I want to take GMAT second time and beat it. Though it seems a bit strange that I want to take it now after admissions I have three reasons for it.

1. I have a huge scholarship opportunity if I get above 700.
2. It will help secure employment if they use GMAT as a screening tool post MBA
3. I want to prove myself that I am good at this test.

Any suggestions are welcome...

@chetan

All the best for this attempt of yours. I would like to know more about B Schools and prospects in UK. I'm sure you would have done enough research on that. It would be great if you could guide me.

@maverick_andy

Hey, you have got a cool, informative blog man.

How is your prep?

Why dont we collect the contacts(mail, phone no.) of people who are writing GMAT this year in Bangalore and form a regional group to share ideas, materials and have discussions, meet up if required?

Please pm your mail id's..

we'll start a mail chain and see if it grows and benefits us.

Hi all,

We are conducting a seminar on 'Acing the GMAT and getting into a top b-school' this Saturday i.e. 27th Nov 2010 at our Bangalore center. The idea behind the seminar is to have a constructive information sharing session about GMAT and MBA programs in general. There will also be a personal profile evaluation session to give you some clarity on your MBA goals. This event is free and you can get your friends along too.
Register at https://crackverbalgmatseminar.eventbrite.com

Also, do PM me or give me a call if you have any queries related to GMAT, I'd be more than happy to answer :)

Why is this thread so dead? I'd definitely expect a lot more activity on a Bangalorean thread! :)

Anyway... just for everyone's information, there is a seminar this Saturday which might be pretty helpful for you if you're applying to a b-school sometime soon. And it's free, so just drag along a friend and come! You can register here or look up the link in my signature.

Thanks!
My GMAT score: 740 [Q:48, V:42]
