Sorry I didnt understand your question. Can you be more specific? the example which I gave is Past Perfect Subjunctive.

I think would is a hypothetical rather than a past tense of will

The Example that You give is one of the 3 conditionals dicussed at the URL above .
As far as this question is concerned we are bothered about the tense and prediction of event.Past perfect subjunctive is used both in Conditionals and prediction of events which was what you were talking about.My question was regarding the latter
