GMAT Score:720

Alas!! It's over!!

by dumb.doofus » Thu Jul 30, 2009 2:36 pm
Hello ppl,

Just gave my GMAT.. and scored a decent 720 (49Q, 40V).. 20 - 30 points less than what I expected.. but then that's what I deserved and so this is the end of story.

It was an amazing journey in the last few months.. I was very active in the group in may and june..although I joined BTG in sep last year..

I gave GMAT on 29th June and that was a debacle. Scored 690 because of some unfortunate circumstances. You can read more about that: https://dreambigdreamhigh.blocked/2 ... -june.html

and so I had to retake the exam. I thought that I'll give it in exactly 31 days (that's what GMAC permits) and so had registered for 30th July.
I started studying again and increased my pace and at the same time my office work too increased.. and after a week, I wasn't able to practice. In the last 31 days I could give only two mock tests and that too on this last weekend. Practice is a must and that's what I couldn't do.

I want to thank a lot of people on this forum with whom I had a mutually symbiotic relationship.. whether in terms of the questions they asked me and I tried to answer or the great answers/solutions that they posted. Both were very beneficial to me.

In the last few months I also started my own grammar collection blog. For every question that I didnt understand well, I researched on the topic on net and posted the underlying concept on the blog. That really helped me and few other folks too.. Although I am not going to update that blog anymore, I shall keep it open, in case any one of you want to access it for your own benefit. The blog is: https://gmattoughies.blocked/

Thank you all again.. and all the best to future aspirants.

Dumb.Doofus

P.S.: If I can be of any help to anyone, please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or drop in a msg on BTG

Hello all,

thanks for the good wishes..

Please take care of one thing. GMAC has reduced the break time to 8 mins from 10 mins. I would suggest that all of you while taking mock tests practice with 8 mins break only.

I didn't know about this and came to know only at the test center.

Good luck to everyone.

DD

Congrats! Good luck for your upcoming apps!

By the way, I really liked your quote: "We are like tea bags. We don't know our strengths until we're in hot water."

SOO true... :)
You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want somethin', go get it. Period.
