If X>1 and Y>1 , is X>Y ?

1. SQRT OF X > Y
2. SQRT OF Y < X[/img]

Implies X > Y
Sufficient!

2. âˆšY < X

If X = 9 and Y = 4, âˆšY < X (2 < 9) and X>Y
If X = 9 and Y = 16, âˆšY < X (4 < 9) and X<Y
Two different solutions, Hence Insufficient!
