Hi,
D changes the intended meaning of the original sentence. D says that calendars are evidence of North American Indians but in the original sentence, calendars are the evidence of an action(North Americans developing advanced calendars).

D implicitly states that the evidence is for both N A Indians and the calenders.This is not the case. Hence POE.

In A,B and C them does not have a clear antecedent. hence POE.

E is clear.
