Radiologists, using PACS, are now able to perform triple the procedures per hour that they could in the 1990's.

a) triple the procedures per hour that they could
b) a tripling of the procedures per hour that they did
c) as much as triple the procedures per hour they had
d) three times as many as the procedures as there were
e) three times as many as the procedures per hour as they did

only E makes sense for me

should be A because in E " as many as procedures doesnt sound right.////
it should be " as many procedures per hour as they did"
what the answer?

POE:
A) triple the procedures = three times as many ....
B) a tripling = a+gerund/ Incorrect usage
C) as much as triple = redundant comparatives - as much as three times as many/Incorrect usage
D) three times as many = see C/Incorrect usage
E) three times as many = see C,D/Incorrect usage
