Hi guys,

I took my GMAT on Dec 26 and scored 740 (Q 48, V 42). I've been a regular, though mostly passive, visitor to this forum. Needless to say, the amazing beatthegmat community played a big role in my score. So please accept my deep appreciation.

A big thanks to you. I always made an effort to seek out your explanations in this forum. I believe you have that rare gift to turn the most difficult problems into easily digestible solutions. You'll make a great author of GMAT quant guides.

Finally, I wholeheartedly recommend Manhattan GMAT series to people who want to master the content in order to score above 700.

Congrats for this great score!!

I appeared on Dec 19. My score is 720(Q 48, V 42). I am not able to understand how could there be difference in total score when sectional scores are same. Can you please tell me your percentile score?

Dear Manmohanji

I'm fairly confused as well. My guess is that the GMAT algorithm can identify some deeper pattern in the performance and then adjust the overall score accordingly. Maybe the GMAT algorithm experts here can shed some light.

My percentiles are Q 83, V 95, Total 97.

In any case, I sympathize with your frustration. 720 is a great score though, and sufficient to establish your academic potential. Now I'd suggest that you focus on other parts of your application to differentiate yourself from the rest.

Thanks. Yeah, I am working on my applications now. This score is enough for me. Problem is that even if you get satisfactory result, your inner greed says you should have got more and more... Curbing this greed is a major challenge for everyone.
