Hi All,
I'm in a real dilemma. I gave me GMAT in Aug end and scored a 730 after scoring consistently in the 770-780 range in the preps. I know what went wrong, i couldn't sleep the night before, had a 9 a.m appointment and was super sleepy during the exam. I was devastated then and decided to retake my GMAT 31 days later.
But, now with all the pressure of applications, i am not sure if i can take out time to study for the exam. I know i don't need too much preparation but i am confused, if it is really worth it?
I am an engineer from Delhi University and obviously my percentage looks bad on a 0-100 scale (the highest is 75).
Really need some advise :
1) How much will the GMAT improve my chances in HBS, Stanford etc.
2) Should i postpone my application to the 2nd round to submit a better score?
Would appreciate any help.
Thanks

Don't waste any more time or money on the test. A 770 will not be the deciding factor in the admissions process if you already have a 730. Get to work on building strong essays and getting some solid rec. letters.

Hey bro!!
I suggest u shuld go for it once again...See the upside if u make 770..A sense of "happiness" and a solid reason if u fail to get an admit from HBS r stanford that ur GMAT is not ur culprit and so that U culd improvise on ur weakness to build a stellar profile. If ur gut feeling says U can get 770 ..the do it man..After all its ur "heart" Just live with it and who knows if u Beat the monster so hard ur gates for HBS could atleast be "creaked in little bit if not wide open"

Dude! Do not waste your time and do not make admission committees wonder whether you are crazy or have a lot of tiem to waste! 730 is 97 percentile! Anything above 700 is dangerous to retake and can be a red flag to admission committees. You are already in the top 5% of the GMAT population, so be happy and celebrate!

I have to agree with the members on this thread that it's probably not the best use of your time to retake. A 730 is super solid, and you're better off focusing on the other areas of your apps, like your essays!
Congrats and good luck!
