Took the GMAT over the weekend for the first time and got a 710 Q44, V41 which puts me in the 92nd percentile....

I'm not sure if this is a really good score... I'm concerned about my Quantitative score being too low. Most people here seem to score much higher on the Quant section. Quant questions were trickier than expected, but Verbal was about what I anticipated.

A little info about my preparation: Started studying 3 months ago. Mostly used practice books from Kaplan, but some others as well. Unfortunately a family emergency took me out of my study plan about a month ago so I was quite rusty when I took the exam. I didn't do the GMAT Prep test on the computer so I had never experienced the test on the computer before.

What do you guys think about the score? I'm thinking about re-taking the exam but I think that my time might be better spent on the school applications.

Hey,

Which schools and which major are you gonna apply for? Unless you provide this info, it's tough for us to help you out properly. In general, if you are looking to apply for MBA in Finance in top 10-15 schools, schools expect you to have good Quants scores (above 80%). Some top 10 schools mandatorily ask for scores above 80% in both Quants and Verbal. So, it varies from school to school.

Btw, Congratulations for your score! IMO, you must go ahead with your apps now.
