Hi Guyz,
I was wondering whether there is any point applying to the top 10 universities in US with a score of 620.
I have about 3.5 yrs experience as a Business analyst.
Also, I have scored consistently around 700 in MGMAT and Kaplan. Scored a 760 and 730 in Gmat prep, but I failed to perform on the actual day. Is it advisable to go for a retest???
For now I am quite exhausted with the GMAT and was wondering that I should spend more time in making my application.
Is it true that I can update my GMAT score later, after I send my applications to college??
Will INSEAD, and other top school consider my application with a score of 620???
Any inputs will help...
Thanks....
620

How many times have you taken the GMAT? I went to an info session for Kellogg recently, and the admissions representative said that since most people take the test more than once, they want to see you at least make another attempt if you score well under their average. If you get a similar score on the second attempt, at least they know that you put forth the effort to take it again. She also noted that they rarely see significant improvement after 3 tries.
In your case, since you did so well on the practice tests, I would absolutely take it again. Was there any reason you were able to identify for the discrepancy in scores, like test day nerves or distractions at the test center?
