I am giving up. I can't seem to climb verbal ladder to reach 700 goal. I guess It's my destiny not to go to business school. Thanks for help though.

People don't give up in this forum. it's better to burn out than to fade away.
Setting aside all those motivational babbles...what did u do in Verbal so that after getting such a good score in Q u end up with 19 in V?

let us know in details, please.

if you have the brain to score that high in quantitative, with a little effort you can score a decent verbal score. nothing is impossible in this world.

I presume that English is not your native language. Maybe there's something you can do rectify this weakness on the GMAT. Have you tried private tutoring?

Absolutely what everyone says! Verbal just needs practice and u obviously did excellent in the Q section so id say another 2 months in Verbal and u would ace that too.

48 in Quant is an awesome score. Just a little push in verbal can easily fetch you a wonderful GMAT score. Don't give up so easily there are many of us sailing in the same boat and we can help each other succeed.

I hope to see you back in action.

don't give up, my friend! u already nailed the q section. good for u! u just need to put a little effort into v. it's not that bad. make sure u know grammar rules pretty well bc if u have the rules down some questions take only about 30 seconds and that would give u more time for the other questions. practice as many rc questions as u can bc after a while u can guess where the question makers are going. keep a positive attitude and i'm sure u will achieve a great result next time :)

So,just because you scored 550 on GMAT, you said you wanted to give up.You dont even ask for advice or tip on how to improve your verbal section. You have not even taken the test twice or thrice.Whatever you motive to post this,i will tell you what you dont wanna hear.
So,go ahead and give up.They dont beg people to succeed in life.It is your choice. It is up to you.

By the way, your gmat score of 550 is competitive to some non-ranked
B-schools if you dont mind.
Henry.

You have a great Quant score. Focus more on the verbal next time around. If everyone gave up this forum would not exist. I would suggest you just spend more time on the Verbal portion. You might have been been exhausted by the latter part of the test. Take a break, 1 or 2 weeks, and get the ball rolling again. I am sure you will do better. I truly hope you don't give up.
