Hi,
I am Ankita Nayyar, I am having 28 months of full time work experience as a business development executive in a mid size recruitment firm. I have completed my BE in 2008. I want to apply the logical process of thinking inculcated in during engineering to non technical aspects. My current job role requires regular interaction with high level clients. Therefore in a very short time i have learnt a lot from various interactions on how to deal with a variety of people and solve various issues by thinking on my feet. My GMAT score is 640. I am interested in pursuing management education in marketing. I have fair amount of knowledge about marketing, as i have read many books on sales, marketing and advertising. I have practical exposure of sales and business development and I am very much interested in pursuing formal education in the sam. I am targeting US universities. As i am a newbie, so please help in shorlisting universities. If any experts can suggest me some universities according to my profile, it will be of great help.
Regards,
Ankita Nayyar.

X : 89.2 %
Prefect for 3 years in school. Member of both school and college cricket & soccer teams. Additionally, member in various groups like festival co- ordination committee, magazine committee etc. and also one of the founders of the departmental wall magazine committee in college.
Drawback(s): 1. Typical profile wrt being an Indian, IT , male.
2. Will have around 15 months professional work ex. by August 2011.
Additionally, working on coveted applications, which are directly relevant to MBA, called Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) apps. Have also been extensively involved with 2 NGOs as a voluntary service provider.
Reco letters: One each from my Project Lead (professional), Departmental HOD(acads) and Manager of NGO(extracurricular).
Target Schools for fall 2011: 1. Terry College of Business.

If you got an interview in round 2 you should check out this really good interview guide I found.
https://media.www.harbus.org/media/stora ... 0881.shtml
It's made by current HBS students with their questions and analysis from their actual interviews, and it's only $35. Which compared to the application fee totally seems worth it to me. It says that it is an HBS specific guide, but that's just because of the local info and campus map, etc. I think it servers as awesome prep for any important interview.
Hope everyone is hearing good news!

the profile info you provided is not substantial enough to make a judgment. for starters, you need to:gtmcdonald wrote:Age:26

GMAT: Not taken
I am glad you started this. I cannot decide whether to apply this year or next. I have just this week started studying for the GMAT and am wondering anyone's feedback on whether to wait and apply next year as opposed to this year....Will spending another extra year trying to boost my resume with extracurricular and work achievements and studying be worth it or should I just put the pedal to the medal Thanks!
a. take a mock GMAT and see how you score.
b. figure out what schools and programs interest you and whether your profile, including your GMAT score, can get you in.
besides these, there're so many other variables in the mba admissions equation, such as recommendation letters, essays, etc. -- all of which take quite some time to compose.
