(2*) (3º) has the same value as

For all numbers a and b, if a* = 2 a - 1 and bº = 2 b, then (2*) (3º) has the same value as
(A) 5º
(B) 6º
(C) 9º
(D) 10º
(E) 18º

a* = 2a-1
2* = 4-1 = 3
3' = 2*3 = 6

3*6=18
Only C 9' has the same value

bº = 2b
(2*)(3º) = [2(2) - 1] * [2(3)] = 3 * 6 = 18 = 2(9) = 9º

The correct answer is C.
