p13. For many travelers, charter vacations often turn out to cost considerably more than they originally seemed.
(A) they originally seemed
(B) they originally seem to
(C) they seemingly would cost originally
(D) it seemed originally
(E) it originally seemed they would

please explain all the choices before choosing the right one.

Charter vacations - plural so we need use they instead of it. Remove D and E. We are left with A, B and C. The sentence states that the something cost more than it used to be originally. That is its referring to something in the past (original cost) so we need past tense.. I will go with A.

Tempted to choose B due to paralllism. However will choose A because "seemed" looks to fit well with "originally"

I choose b. there is not reason to use "seemED" in A. there is not past action here
