Flower bed

A flower bed is made by a semicircle and a rectanglew.
If arc QR is a semicricle and PQRS is a rectangle with QR>RS. What is the permiter of the flower bed?
(1) permiter of rectnagle PQRS is 28 ft
(2) Each diagonal of rectangle PQRS is 10 ft long

Answer C
Stmt 1 perimeter of rect PQRS is 28 ft
2(QR + RS) = 28
(QR + RS) = 14

given QR > RS
QR =12 RS=2, QR =11 RS=3, QR =10 RS=4, QR =9 RS=5, QR =8 RS=6
Not Suff.


Stmt Each diagonal of rectangle PQRS is 10 ft long

Not Suff

From 1 and 2
QR^2 +RS^2 =100
QR =14-RS
(14-RS)^2 +RS^2 =100
RS =8 or RS =6
but QR >RS
so RS=6 and QR=8
QR is diameter of a semicircle ,so find the perimeter of semicircle
pie*QR/2
Thusu get the perimeter of the flower bed when u add perm. of rect and perm. of semicircle
