here is my way of thinking:
Statement 1 --> Line l doesnt intersect with the equation y=1-x means that the line l must be parallel to the equation. As you know, slopes are equal for parallel lines. So we can find out the slope of line l.
This makes statement 1 sufficient.

Statement 2 --> Line l intersects the line with equation y=x-1 which means that it can intersect at any angle. At this point, slope cant be decided. This statement is not sufficient.

So Ans is A
