GMAT Prep Number Line DS

Guys,

Not sure if this has been discussed in some other thread (if anyone knows, please point me there)
I have attached a GMATPrep DS Question.

I think the answer should be D and not A.

Can anyone please comment on this?

You are wrong buddy. You get 2 different answers for stmt II. Take a look at the image.
C lies between A and B for 1st line. C lies outside A and B for 2nd line

I could have spent 15 minutes and never figured out the second line that papgust drew with point c to the left of A. Why? I don't have the slightest clue. possibly logic deficiency.

Very clever line drawings papgust. You are my math guru :)

Not at all. This question is a perfect proof example that GMAT math, while focuses on the undergraduate and high school basics, tests the personality trait of Critical Analysis. The analysis that is tested in gmat Math is not taught in any school or course and the development of Data Sufficiency questions proves this point. The ability to answer gmat questions similar to this one depends on a skill, but I believe depends more on a natural gift, which is beyond anyone's control.

Unless one has taken vigorous physics classes and was naturally gifted in math, answering these types of questions in 2 or 3 minutes is terrible task to the average graduate person. Does that mean tha everyone who goes to business school has above average talent in math and language, and took physics classes ? I do not know.
