Time difference between 12:35 and 12:36 is 1 min.

In 60 minutes the minute hand moves 360 deg (one complete cycle of minute hand in an hour)

Thus,
In 1 minutes the minute hand moves 360/60 deg = 6 deg

Meanwhile, the hour hand is also moving. (Is not it?)

In 1 hr (60 min) the hour hand moves 360/12 = 30 deg (In 1 hr the hour hand moves from a digit to next digit [say from 12 to 1])

Thus,
In 1 minutes the hour hand moves 30/60 deg = 0.5 deg

Hence, the difference between them is 6.0 - 0.5 = 5.5 deg
