Let's take each statement one by one.

(1) The sum of the digits was 10.

The number can be any 127, 235, 253, etc. Insufficient.

(2) X < Y < Z

The number can be any 127, 235, etc. Insufficient.

(1) and (2) together

Both the numbers 127 and 235 are applicable for each statement. Insufficient.

The correct answer: E
