In 2 the symbol can represent either a + or a -
If + then ans is C
If - the the equation (5-6)-2 = 5-(6-2) is does not hold true hence ans is A as B is insuff

condition I

Tells us that operator is + or * and using this eq is true

Condition II

operator is + or -

with + , eq is true
with -, eq is not true.

Hence A

am I suppose to narrow it to one operator?

Statememt 2
We know it must be +
