How many integers between 234700

How many integers between 234700 and 458600 have tens digit 1 and units digit 3?
A 10300
B.10030
C 1353
D 1352
E 1339

I am not sure whether the no.s are correct. I just want to know the way to solve this problemIf you have something simillar pls share.

None of the answer choices look correct.

There will be one integer per hundred integers with units digit 3 and tens digit 1.

There are 223700 integers between the two big numbers. So there should be 2237 integers that meet the condition.

between 234700 and 458600

you will have
234713
234813
234913
...
458513
458613 X this number is greater so stop at previous


So for every hundred you will have a digit of 13 at the end. So 4586 - 2347 will give you the number of HUNDREDS between them = 2239

now you need to subtract 1 because 458613 is counted in the 4586 hundred

so answer is 2239-1=2238

the order goes

hundreds, tens, units = 100s, 10s, 1s

I'm going to agree with m&m with one exception. I do not believe you should subtract 1 from your answer and here's why:

Take two numbers much closer, lets say 458300 and 458600, now subtract the first from the second to get 300 and divide that by 100 to get the number of hundreds = 3.

We can easily see that this is correct without subtracting 1....

458313,458413, and 458513

You are correct in this case, but consider 9-5=4 , here one digit of the answer is the digit 9 !!!!

AM I RIGHT. Please explain.
