Question from Powerprep

by bronzie35 » Fri Apr 03, 2009 3:43 pm
Hello, I've just started studying for the GMAT so I'm sure I will have a ton of questions. Thank you in advance for your help.

Here is a Data Suff question in which I don't understand why the answer is E.

During week W, how much did it cost, per mile, for the gasoline used by car X?

(1) During week W, car X used gasoline that cost $1.24 per gallon.
(2) During week W, car X was drivne 270 miles.

The answer is E but I don't understand why it isn't C.

Please help me to understand.

Thanks.

Hey buddy.....

Here the first choice gives you only the cost of gasoline per gallon and the second choice gives you only the total number of miles. Unless the number of miles that one can drive using one gallon of gasoline is given one cannot arrive at a solution.Hence the answer is E.

:D

Ok, why you think it's C?

By the way, Angel11 you are right.
