hi alll

Now i took the practice gmat and got a dumb score of 600... Now i had these questions which i need answers.

Could you kly help....

1) DS :- in an isosceles triangle RST what is measure of angle R

1) measure of angle T is 100
2) measure of angle S is 40

2) DS :- for students of class A, the range of their heights is r cm and the greatest height is g cm. For students of class B, range of the heights is s cm and the greatest height is h cm. Now is the least height of students in class A greater than the least height for class B?

1) r<s 2) g>h

3) DS :- does the line k intersect quadrant II of a system (-ve, +ve)

1) slope is -(1/6)
2) y intercept is -6.

4) DS :- is m ne n?
1) m+n <0
2) mn<0

Thanks

Q1. I'd go with A on this one:
1 says that one of the angles is 100. Since this is an isosceles triangle, this one cannot be one of the equal angles, since 2*100 = 200 > 180. This means that the other two angles are equal, with each having (180 - 100)/2 = 40 degrees. So 1 is sufficient.
2 is insufficient, because S could be one of the equal angles, but it could also be the un-equal angles.
So A.

Harsha,
Just a friendly suggestion. Please search using keywords before posting a problem. Most of these(especially all of the gmat prep probs) have been already solved on this forum. This way u dont have to wait for others to provide a solution and hence u can get what u want in a more timely fashion.

Problem 4:

Is m equal to n or not equal to n

Stmt I

m+n < 0

m < -n

m=-2 n= -2 m< - ( -2) i.e m<4 Both are equal

m=-1000 n = 1 m< -n m and n not equal

INSUFF

Stmt II

mn<0

Either m positive and n negative or n positive and m negative

Hence m not equal to n.

SUFF

Choose B
