1. SQRT(X) > Y

2. SQRT (Y) < X
Statement 1 :

Sqrt(x) > y
=> x > y^2
=> x > y (since y > 1 => y^2> y)

Sufficient

Statement 2:

Sqrt (y) < x
=> y < x^2
Test cases :
Now if, y =2, x = 1.5
Then y > x
But if, y =2, x = 3
Then y < x ----- Not Sufficient

Answer should be A.
Thanks

1. SQRT(X) > Y
2. SQRT (Y) < X
Statement 1: √x > y > 1
=> x > y² > y

Sufficient

Statement 2: √y < x
=> x² > y and x² > x
But we don't have whether x > y or not.

Not sufficient

The correct answer is A.
