ABC is a right angle

by sanju09 » Thu Jul 29, 2010 5:11 am
In triangle ABC all the sides have integer lengths. What is the length of side AC?

1. AB = 3 and BC = 4.
2. One of the angles of ABC is a right angle.

stmt1,

AB=3,BC=4

1>AC<7

AC can be any integer like 2,3,4,5,6

Insuff

stmt2,

ABC ia right angle triangle.

No info abt sides.

Insuff

Combining 1 and 2,

AB=3,BC=4

If we take B=90,AC=5

If we take A or C as 90,AC will not be an integer which is not possible.

-->AC=5

Pick C

No info about right angle[A,B or C] and sides lengths.

So insufficient.
