two numbers are in the ratio 4:7, if thrice the larger number is added to twice the smaller , the sum is 59. find the numbers.

With the data you have provided the numbers turn out to be 413/29 and 236/29. Do check it as phoenix said

58 is reasonable. numbers are 8 and 14.
