Hi

27 Years old Male.
720 GMAT score.


Was born In Saudi Arabia from Afghan Parents. Lived in Saudi till about the age of 10 and then moved to Australia and been here since.
Went to Edith Cowan University and studied Computer Science 3 years. I started 1st semester with average of greater than 89%+ and in the second it had dropped to 80%+ and then it had seriously dropped due to a lot of family conflict, monetary and personal issues. And hence though I had started really well I finished not so good with maybe around a 59% average.

I am now in my postgrad MBA degree at Curtin University(7th in Australia) and averaging 82%+.

I have lived in KSA, Pakistan(~6 months total), Australia, Japan(3years) and Malaysia (~1.5months).

I have travelled to 13+ countries.
I am multilingual in 4 languages (English, Persian, Japanese and Arabic) and wanting to learn more.

I have more than 11years work experience(As I had started at a young age);
3 years teaching English in Japan(am a Certified TESOL teacher), 3 years Sales and Marketing manager, 1 year Sales and Customer service manager, 2 years as a store manager. Also had run my own IT consulting home business 1 year and started as a tech 1 year.



What are my chances of getting accepted into LBS, INSEAD, IE or CEIBS ?

What are my chances of full scholarship?


I do not want to attend US schools mainly because they are 2 year programs and would much prefer a 1 year program or thereabouts.

Hello,

Based on the information you provided, I’d say Insead would be a possible reasonable reach and IE and CIEBS are between reasonable reach and on-par, assuming stand-out applications. But this is really a “ballpark” assessment because I don’t have some critical information: your goals. Without the goals, I can’t see how the rest of the career information adds up. The strength is the international component, the weakness obviously the downward trending GPA (you can explain briefly in an optional essay, which could help somewhat). I can't comment with confidence on the likelihood of a full scholarship, but I expect it would be low.

Even with strong and well-presented goals, the potential challenge/drawback I see for you is a sense of lack of direction and focus. You have a lot of experience that seems worthwhile and interesting on its face, but where does it go, what is the trajectory? What story does it tell, and how does it create a foundation for your goals? The MBA adcoms would like to see this sense of purpose and development, so give careful thought to how you craft your “story” in your essays.

thanks Cindy.

my scores then is a case of that is then and this is now.

I do have a goal Cindy and if my whole background including travel and languages were taken into account it might become more apparent.
I want to be a successful executive in an International Company dealing with people of all nationalities
eg Sales Manager for Cisco in Japan etc.

Thats the reason I speak multiple languages, why I have lived and worked in a few countries, why I have travelled extensively and why I am aiming for MBA universities that are not only highly ranked but are known to be quite open and multiculturally diverse.


Do you think my volunteering work etc would help?
I give blood. I volunteered and built houses in Thailand in the aftermath of the Tsunami. I helped and supported international students at university. I am an active member of Japan Culture Centre wherein exchange of culture and ideas occur.
